Statement of Purpose:

To preserve and display the history of Pacific County, Washington, for the general public.

Highlights & Collections:

The Museum features displays on Pacific County communities, cultural life, ethnic groups, indigenous peoples, and trade, and economic activities.

Located on Willapa Bay, one of the last unpoluted estuaries in the continental United States, the Museum interpretes noteworthy local industries such as oyster farming, tree farming, and cranberry growing.

In addition to both permanent and changing displays, the museum operates a book store which specializes in local history.

Significant collections include the largest photographic collection in the area, comprising over 10,000 images, and an imporant collection of charts and maps. Our Indian basket collection includes representative examples from local craftspersons. The museum library houses over 500 volumes of rare local history.
