Statement of Purpose:

The Ojai Valley Museum dedicates itself to bridging the past and the future through stewardship of our community's heritage.

 

Highlights & Collections:

Cultural history, natural history & environmental education, arts & humanities - Ojai Valley's earliest inhabitants (the Chumash Indians), living botanical gardens that advise the visitor of the uses of native specimens, "Day in the Sespe" natural history & environmental exhibition, Jesse Arms Botke paintings & temporary exhibitions (art, natural history & cultural history, lectures and programs).

The Museum is housed in a 1919 Mead & Requa early Misssion Revival structure, the former St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel - the only building in Ojai on the National Register of Historic Places.

Native American (Chumash), Spanish settlers & pioneer descendants, Jesse Arms Botke paintings, Beatrice Wood ceramics
