Statement of Purpose

The mission of the Texas Maritime Museum is to excite and educate the public about Texas maritime history and artifacts.

Highlights & Collections

A recreation of a bridge from a merchant ship through hands-on exploration. Learn to tie knots and communicate via flag signals and morse code.

Gulf Intercoastal Water Way - Explore the coast with an innovative multimetia kiosk that allows visitors to experience video clips, sound effects, and fascinating facts with just a touch of a finger.

Lighthouses and Lightships of the Coast - Paintings of lighthouses and lightships along the Texas Coast with a working model of a light.

The Allure of Fishing - Come see equipment, photographs, and other sport fishing paraphernalia from the last 90 years.

Outdoor exhibits featuring an Authentic Replica of a Texas Scow Sloop and two emergency lifeboats from off-shore oil platforms.

Warm Waters and War: Texas Subchasers 1942 - 1945
This exhibit looks at World War II in the Gulf of Mexico and the role that Texas built subchasers played in preventing German U-boat attacks on the shipping lanes

Rockport Festival of Wines
The 4th annual festival "A coastal Celebration of Wines" featuring wines from the Pacific Northwest, Pacific, Gulf and East Coasts. There is wine tasting, food demonstations, wine and cooking seminars, vendors, and a band for your enjoyment.
