Statement of Purpose
Evansville’s Mesker Park Zoo
& Botanic Garden’s mission is to foster the preservation of the Earth’s
diverse species and living systems through an active role in education and
conservation in our regional and professional community. We will forge
connections between people and the natural world by providing quality
experiences that promote understanding and celebrate the rich tapestry of
life.
Highlights & Collections:
Mesker Park Zoo has 70 acres
of beautiful botanic gardens with 300 animals representing 200 different
species. Guests can feed a giraffe, or walk through an animal exhibit in the
African rift. All new Children’s Enchanted Forest with a petting zoo, animal
exhibits and a playground. Monkey Ship bumper boat rides for children under
54”.
Indian rhino, the oldest
living hippo in captivity, gerenuk, clouded leopards, cheetahs, gibbons, lions,
tigers and many more animals.
Exhibits:
6 zoogeographic areas; 300
animals; 70 acres.
Boo at the Zoo
Oct. 25,
26, 30 & 31. A not-too-scary Halloween party for the kids. Trick or Treat
and entertainment in a safe and fun environment.
Holly Daze at the
Zoo
Winter wonderland at the zoo. Santa Claus, games, choirs, crafts, and
storytellers.

Open everyday 365 days a year
at 9 am.
Gate closes at 4 pm.
