Statement of Purpose:

The museum displays 6,000 examples of American glassware from the 19th to the 21st century.



Highlights:

The Historical Glass Museum is the only museum on west of the Mississippi focusing on exhibiting glass by American makers and artists.  The museum has such a large collection of glass, that in 2008 it will open another museum of glass in an 1888 Victorian house next to the museum.  The new museum will house Contemporary American and European Glass.

Collections:

Glass from nearly every American glass making company is represented.  Everything from depression glass to Steuben Art Glass.

Exhibits:

Permanent Exhibits: large collection of cruets, perfume bottles, paperweights, automobile vases, Fenton, Steuben, Cambridge, Fostoria, brilliant cut glass, depression glass, pattern glass, Mercury glass, etc.

Hours:

Open Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m.  Closed major holidays.
