Statement of Purpose

Operate six living history museums in the Hudson River Valley of architectural, cultural or natural significance: Sunnyside, Kykuit, Philipsburg Manor, Van Cortlandt Manor and Montgomery Place.

Historic home of America's first internationally famous author Washington Irving.
Romantic 19th century cottage and landsacpe.


Philipsburg Manor, North Tarrytown, NY.
Living History Museum. Restored farm and gristmill of 18th century. Once run by Dutch farmers and enslaved Africans.


Van Cortlandt Manor. Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
Living History Museum. Original 18th century manor house and a tavern, kitchen house and gardens. Open hearth cooking.


Montgomery Place. Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
434 acre historic estate. Gardens, trails, 19th century house and fruit orchard. Great view of Hudson river and Catskill Mountains.


Kykuit. The Rockfeller House and Gardens, North Tarrytown, NY.
A property of the National Trust. Home to four generations of Rockfeller's. Landscape, 20th century art. House now open.

Hours: Six days per week. 10-5. Closed Tuesday. Closed in Jan-Feb.
