Purpose:

The mission of the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is to be the premier regional provider of interactive science learning experiences which enrich the lives of children and adults, enhance the quality of life in our community, and promote a broad understanding of the world.  To preserve, protect and enhance the Museum’s anthropology, geology, paleontology and biology collections, and make these collections available for exhibition, education and research purposes.
Formerly known as the Dayton Museum of Natural History and the Dayton Museum of Discovery.

Main Attractions:

Reach for all the adventures when you visit Dayton’s premier attraction for interactive science learning and exploration for the entire family!  Get up close and personal with live animals in the Charles Exley Jr. Wild Ohio Zoo; explore environments around the world in EcoTrek; learn about air, water and motion in Oscar Boonshoft Science Central; catch a planetarium or laser show in the Caryl D. Philips Space Theater; visit the forest in the Mead Treehouse and much, much more!  Traveling exhibits, special events, public programming… there’s always something new to discover!

Located just north of Downtown Dayton. From I-75, take the Siebenthaler/Wagner Ford exit (57B).  Take N. Dixie Dr. to Siebenthaler Ave. to Ridge Ave. to DeWeese Parkway.  Watch for the Museum signs.
