Our Newsham engine, built in London England, is one of the oldest pieces of mobile fire apparatus in America. Imported to Manhattan in 1731, it was used by the Volunteers for 154 years.
From NYS Thruway (exit 21-Catskill) or Rt 9W, follow signs to Rip Van Winkle Bridge & Hudson. East of Hudson River, Take Rt 9 or TSP or Rts 82 & 23 to Hudson. Museum in opposite to middle school on Harry Howard Avenue.

Old Skiver - 1812
Gooseneck type engine used in New York City from late 18th Century to
1840. Because the original was mainly butchers, the engine was
nicknamed "Old Skiver".

2nd Addition:
Houses apparatus of horse drawn, steam and early motor truck eras from
1870 to 1939. Lighted wall cases display uniforms, breathing apparatus
and fire service certificates.

3rd Addition.
Displays a 1928 Ahrens-Fox, 1929 Seagrave Aerial Ladder truck, 1939
Buffalo, 1959 Ward LaFrance Quad, and a 1974 Cadillac Ambulance. Large
collections of Zouave, Manufacturer's name plates, foreign helmets and
uniforms, local artwork, patches and ceramic

Fire apparatus dating from 1731 to 1900 is on display including models,
helmets, speaking trumpets, badges and banneers.
