Statement of Purpose

MOCFA's mission is to promote the understanding and appreciation of human expression, ranging from utilitarian objects to contemporary art. This is accomplished through innovative exhibitions of craft and folk art from cultures past and present, educational program, and publications.

The museum's exhibitions, which change approximately every 3 months, are enhanced by family programs, slide lectures, and public workshops. Exhibitions of contemporary craft, 20th century folk art and traditional ethnic art from at home and abroad are complemented by a gift shop featuring hand-made objects reflecting MOCFA’s focus.
