Highlights & Collections

The Mendocino County Museum is a storehouse of memories, dreams, and hard-won lessons of survival amidst the rugged beauty of California's North Coast.

Changing exhibits provide fresh and flexible experiences that celebrate the life and times of Mendocino County.

Oral history interviews capture living memories on tape.

The danger and excitement of everyday work in the redwoods is recalled through living history demonstrations using restpored steam-powered machinery.

The Museum's Grassroots History Program has been recognized for accomplishments in the study and enjoyment of family and community history.

A major new exhibition called "Ridgewood Ranch: Home of Seabiscuit" opened two years ago to conincide with the premiere of "Seabiscuit" starring Toby McGuire & Beau Bridges, at our local Noyo Theatre.  Seabiscuit was retired to the ranch after his famous win at Santa Anita in 1940.
