A forum for the presentation of creative ideas, the Nevada Museum of Art aspires to serve every member of the community. Through innovative programming and scholarship, the Museum provides the opportunity for people to encounter, engage, and enjoy a diversity of art experiences.
The NMA's focus on its collections, exhibitions, and outreach are means to conserve, convey, and expand artistic knowledge.
Founded in 1931, the Nevada Museum of Art (NMA) features a variety of changing exhibitions throughout the year. The Museum's collection reflects five focus areas centered on the aesthetic articulation of our land and environment. The NMA schedules programs for all ages including tours, workshops, lectures, family programs and classes. A Museum Store offers gifts, jewelry, books, and other art-related items.

Saltworks: Wayne Barrar
February 9 – April 15, 2001
The NMA will present Barrar’s photo series
documenting the unusual landscape of New Zealand’s only
saltworks.
Duane Hanson: Virtual
Reality
April 20 – June 24, 2001
This
exhibition includes approximately 25 sculptures created by Duane Hanson between
1976 and 1995. Cast directly from models and completed in polychromed fiberglass
on bronze, Hanson’s life-size figures portray American narratives and social
types.
