Americas. Prints and drawings from the 13th century to the present. The
Michael C. Carlos Museum is located within Emory University and serves
its community as well the
general public. Its permanent collection of over 15,000 objects spans
nearly 9,000 years from the prehistoric cultures of seventh millennium
B.C. to the twentieth century. It occupies a 45,000 square foot
building designed by internationally-renowned

The Michael C. Carlos Museum
houses a permanent collection of 15,000 objects including art from
Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Near East, the Americas, Asia, Africa and
Oceania, and European and
American prints and drawings ranging from the Middle Ages to the
twentieth century. Founded in 1919, the Museum was expanded in 1993 to
include 29 galleries for the permanent collections, and
eight galleries for special exhibitions of all periods, featuring the
holdings of other nationally and internationally-renowned institutions.
