Changing exhibitions of American crafts, as well as a selection from the permanent collection of 20th-century crafts in glass, ceramics, wood, fiber, and metal are featured at the Renwick Gallery.
A department of the National Museum of American Art, the Renwick Gallery is
housed in a building designed in 1859 by architect James Renwick but not completed until 1874. The Grand Salon has been restored and refurbished in the style of the late 19th century.
Highlights include Albert Paley's Portal Gates, grand staircase, and sales exhibitions of crafts in the Museum Shop.
