Statement of Purpose:

Former home and studio of artists Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner.

To preserve and interpret for the public the living and working environment of Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) and Lee Krasner (1908-1984), two of the foremost Abstract Expressionist Painters; to encourage the highest levels of educational and creative activity through a program of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, courses, symposia, research projects, and other activities utilizing the museum's singular combination of domestic facilities and interpretive resources; and to provide a reference library and research collections for the study of modern art of the United States, with special emphasis on the artists associated with the New York School and the eastern Long Island region..
