Statement of Purpose:

Intact 281 acre 1840's farm and 1846 inn being restored as a working 1840's farm with surviving unplowed prairie.

Highlights & Collections:

The Midwest's only historically intact 281 acre former 1840s Illinois prairie farmstead and teamster inn being restored as an 1840s working farm museum. This is a prime example of Jefferson's vision for America, a nation of farmers owning their own land.

1846 restored tavern, 1842 grain barn, 1849 horse barn, rare breeds of livestock and poultry, heirloom gardens and 20 acres of unplowed prairie

Exhibits & Special Events:

Rare breeds show, harvest days, heirloom garden show, prairie hikes, antique tool show.
