The William Lyon Phelps Foundation presents ten historic buildings open to
the public during July and August, including a Victorian mansion, log cabin,
church, community house, Life Saving Station, general store, barns,
carriage house and more.

Highlights:
Seven Gables - summer home of Prof. And Mrs. William Lyon Phelps -
special tour of this beautiful mansion overlooking an ancient golf links on Lake
Huron. The house has hardly changed since it was built in the
1880's and contains all of its original furnishings, artifacts and
decor.
Pointe aux Barques Life Saving Station - a rare historic landmark, this
building was rescued in the 1960's and preserved here as a
museum. It contains the fascinating Ted Richardson Collection
of Life Saving artifacts
and gear, including a very rare Francis Life Car.
Exhibits:
The museum displays depict everyday life
as it was before the turn of the 20th century. There are special displays on lumbering, agriculture, transportation, culture and literature.
