With Internet Exhibitions dating from 1993, the UCR/California Museum of Photography has always looked to extend the medium of photography
beyond its chemical confines and to bridge new constituencies.
The Museum promostes understanding of photography and related media
through collection, research, exhibition and instruction.
Highlights & Collections:
Both on the Internet and in the physical galleries, the UCR/CMP offers a program of progressive contemporary art and bold interpretation of our culture's past.
Special features include:
a walk-in camera obscura in the Family Interactive Gallery;
the world's largest collection of stereoscopic prints and negatives;
three to four exhibitions.
Keystone-Mast Collection of stereoscopic photographs; the largest collection
of cameras west of Rochester;
the Ansel Adams Fiat Lux collection and a fine study collection supporting research in the History of Photography.
