Statement of Purpose:

Explora Science Center is an interactive science center dedicated to educating people of all ages, especially the children of New Mexico, about the wonders of science and technology.

Explora's mission is to provide the community with an innovative learning center that promotes interactive learning about the world and universe around us. Our emphasis is to explore how science, art and culture interrelate.

Exhibits:

• Interactions: The Art of Science
  Touch a tornado. Compose a pentatonic symphony. Hands-on exhibits, designed by artists, explore scientific principles and the integration of art and science
• Image Walk Do-It
  Saturdays in June, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm
  Step outside and search for pinhole images of the sun with Explora staff.
• Bridge Do-It
  Saturdays in July, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm
  Bridge the art and science gap. Build body bridges, paper bridges, and more.
• Rainstick Do-It
  Saturdays in August, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm
  This rainy season create a rainstick for wet weather without the water.
• Music Maker Do-It
  Saturdays in September, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm
  Sounds like fun! Make your own musical instruments.

Hours:

• Monday, closed.
• Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Sunday 12-5 p.m.
• Open most holidays.

Explora is located at 800 Rio Grande Blvd NW, in the southwest corner of the Sheraton Old Town. Plenty of free parking is available.

Admission:

• Toddlers, under age 2 free;
• Children, age 2-12 $2;
• Seniors, age 65 and older $2;
• Adults, age 13-64 $4.
