Statement of Purpose:

Establihed in 1956, the Bergen Museum presents local, regional artisits and important exhibitions, Mastodon Music Programs, Cool Site Awards on the Internet, Holocaust Remembrance, Eudcational Outreach Programs and collaborative projects with other non-profit organizations and institutions.

The Bergen Museum's pride are in its most significant holdings: The Alexander's Mural (184 ft x 60 ft.)2 Mastodon Skeletons and historic paintings.

Highlights & Collections:

The Bergen Museum hosts exhibits in the Museum's "Petite Gallery" and in the "Museum Without Walls" brining art to the people with exhibits in public spaces.

The Museum has a colection of local, regioanl artisits and artifcats in addtion to 2 Mastondon Skeletons.

The Museum was gifted the famous mural created by S. Knapp which graced the former Alexander's building located at Rt. 4, 17 and the GSP by the Varnado REIT. There are plans to display Mural on a new facade early next year in 2001. The mural is approx. 184 ft x 60 ft. and is ceramic on copper panels.

Tu-Sa: 10-4; Su: 1-5. Hours are posted on the Museum's web site as per exhibit.

Admission & Directions:

Donations are accepted.
