The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center presents the art of
our time in a way that entertains, educates, and enlightens audiences
of all ages. Galleries are open from May 1, 2005 - February 6, 2006,
daily except Tuesday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Administrative offices are open year-round, Monday through Friday,
10-6. A private, non-profit organization founded in 1972, BMAC is a
non-collecting museum which produces changing exhibitions of current
art.
Educational programs are available for children, teachers and adult
learners. The Museum Shop carries wonderful items to complete a visit.
Highlights:
BMAC is a non-collecting museum with 8-10 exhibits each year
relating to an annual theme. The 2003 theme is Spirit & Vision.
Thirty years of innovative exhibitions rarely seen in a small
rural-based museum, educational programs, and special events make the
Museum a cultural hub for the community.
Exhibits:
The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center's season offers viewers the
opportunity to experience work by artists and fine craftsmen who are
deeply connected to Vermont and the surrounding region. Work by
established, internationally recognized artists as well as mid-career
and emerging artists will be features in a series of exhibits ranging
from painting, prints, sculpture, and video installations to stringed
instruments.
