Statement of Purpose:

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History (CCMNH) is a center for discovery, study and protection of the natural world focusing on the environment of Cape God.

The museum is located in the Stony Brook Valley area of Brewster on Route 6A and overlooks Wing Island and Cape Cod Bay.

Highlights:

More than a Museum....

A myriad of explorations, classes and field schools are conducted on its own property.

Exhibits:

The main floor of the museum also contains The Clarence Hay Library, one of the largest repositories of naturar history information for all ages south of Boston.

The Personal Response to the Earth Gallery features the interpretive works by juried, local artists whereln a different artist is featured each month.

In addition, a vast array of classes, lectures and activities that enrich the educational experience are offered monthly in both the main auditorium and The Window on the Marsh Room.

Secrets in the Sand: The Archaeology of Cape Cod will open in July 1996, featuring the research and findings of archaeologist, Fred Dunford, who has conducted an archaeological dig on Wing Island (directly behind the Museum on the Wing Trail) with his archaeology staff for the past two summer seasons. The exhibit will feature excerpts from his soon to be released book of the same name.

Hours:

The Museum is open year round, seven days a week:
Monday-Saturday: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and
Sundays 12:30 to 4:30 pm.

Admission:

Admission is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children, children under six are free.

Individual and family memberships are also available.
